In the year of the 90th anniversary of Marine Hydrophysical Institute, the tradition of awarding prizes named after V. Shuleikin & A. Kolesnikov in order to encourage graduate students and young scientists (up to and including 35 y.o.) for scientific works and inventions that are important for fundamental and applied science.
Prizes are awarded for a separate scientific work or for a set of works united by a single subject:
According to the results of a secret rating vote of the Award Commission for Young Scientists named after V. Shuleikin and named after A. Kolesnikov and in accordance with the decision of the Academic Council of Oct. 04, 2019 protocol No. 4, Pavel Lishaev, junior research associate of the Department of Dynamics of Oceanic Processes, became V. Shulekin prize laureate for 2019 for a series of works devoted to reconstructing three-dimensional temperature and salinity fields from rare contact hydrological measurements and altimetry data, as well as refining the reanalysis of hydrophysical fields of the Black Sea by assimilating these fields in a circulation model.
A. Kolesnikov prize for 2019 was awarded to Maria Yurovskaya, senior research associate at the Laboratory of Applied Sea Physics, Remote Sensing Department of Research, for the series of works “Characterization of sea waves from optical images from a platform in Katsiveli, aircraft and satellites”.
Awarding of the laureates took place as part of the ceremonial closing of the 4th All-Russian Conference of Young Scientists "Comprehensive Studies of the World Ocean –"CSWO (KIMO) –2019 ".
