September 19 – 23, the First All-Russian Scientific Conference for Schoolchildren, Students and Young Scientists “Marine Research and Environmental Management” was held in Sevastopol. This is a unique project aimed at attracting novice researchers to active work, identifying potential leaders among them and supporting their creative scientific initiative.

The main events of the conference were held in the main educational building of the Branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University. During the conference, young participants had the opportunity to publicly talk about the results of their scientific research, attend lectures of famous scientists (including the heads of scientific institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences), get acquainted with the most successful young specialists in Sevastopol in the field of marine research, take part in excursions and master classes and learn a lot of interesting things about the modern achievements of fundamental science.

One of the main organizers of the conference was Marine Hydrophysical Institute. On its basis, on September 19-21, the “Interactive School of Marine Sciences for Students and Schoolchildren” was first organized. The scientists of the Institute hold the following lectures and master classes: “Operational Oceanography and Numerical Modeling of Hydrophysical Processes”, “Expeditionary Oceanological Research and Analysis of Expeditionary Data” and “Hydrochemical Research”.
